Newsletter 21 August 2008
Beagánín luath, tá a fhios againn, ach fáilte róimh go léir ar ais agus níos tabhactach, fáilte mór roimh na páistí agus tuismitheorí nua. Slightly early, we know, but welcome back to everyone and a special warm welcome to the new children and parents. We hope you had a wonderful summer break (in spite of the weather!).
We have a few important notices to send out before school starts next Wednesday, 27th August and would be grateful if you would make a note of them.
The Department of Education funded the school move being undertaken by a removal firm and therefore we did not need to call on you for help. Thank you for all the kind offers. Cabhair ag teastail. We would however be grateful if any parents were available next week, particularly Monday or Tuesday to help erect writing boards/notice boards and various other tasks that need to be carried out before the School opens on Wednesday. Please contact the School on 898 766.
Carchlós / Car Park
Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that there is set-down parking only for a small number of cars outside the school. This obviously is not satisfactory, however, we have no immediate solution and therefore we would ask parents to bear this in mind and not to park up. Could those with children in the older classes simply do a drop- off? Thank you for your patience on this. If any parents are available to man the gates on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, could they let the School know on Wednesday morning?
Sábhalta ag an suíomh / Safety on the site
The site has been made safe with fencing and safety barriers, however, it is still very close to the main road. It is imperative that each and every parent warn/explain to their child/children not to wander too near the fences/barriers or out of the school grounds.
Naoínra/Cumann "After-school" / Playschool/After-school Club
We are delighted to inform you that there will be a Playschool/After-school Club (as gaeilge cinnte! run through the Irish language, of course!) opening at the School on 9 September. Tús Maith will be run by Bridget (087 253 5720) and Anne (087 646 2523). Please contact either of them directly for details.
Bus Scoile / School Bus
Unfortunately, we have no news on the School Bus. We are in contact with Bus Eireann on a daily basis to be told they are still arranging it! We will notify the relevant parents immediately once we have news.
