Parents Committee

Cairde Gael Scoil Nás Na Riogh is the Parents Association/Council that was founded when the school began. As a Parent Association affiliated to the National Parents Council, Cairde Gael Scoil Nás Na Riogh is the structure through which parents in the school can work together for the best possible education for their children. Cairde Gael Scoil Nás Na Riogh works with the Principal, staff and the Board of Management to build effective partnership of home and school.

The aim of the parents committee is to help the school in fundraising, help in organising events in the school, organising newsletters to parents about meetings, events, etc.

There is a parents committee – Coiste na gCairde – which is elected each year at the AGM, usually in September.

There are 2 representatives from each class on the committee. Our present committee is made up of 10 parents ( 5 classes). The committee is made up of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer, each role also has an Assistant.

Bernard Ó Dhubhshláinne is chairperson of the parents committee at present. The function of the committee is to assist and support the principal by fundraising and helping out at school functions etc.
