Junior Infants

Please note that Junior Infants will go home at the following times: 29 August – 2 September 11.15am, 5-9September 12.15 and 12 September onwards 1.25pm  Parking tickets for the ETBI carpark will be available from the office from tomorrow. You need to have a ticket to park in the ETBI carpark from Friday.


School  gates will open at 8.35am and a teacher will supervise. Do not leave your child  unsupervised on the campus before this. This is a dangerous area because of the building works. Children who arrive at 9am or later should use the main entrance.


Rang 6 will commence swimming on Tuesday and Rang 5 will commence swimming on Wednesday  from 6/7 September for 7 weeks. The cost is €42.  I would be grateful if you could forward this money to the school as soon as possible.

Contact on Books

We need parents to place contact on books every morning in the school library. If you have a junior infant it can be a good way to meet other parents and do your bit for the school.

Coffee Morning

Coiste na dTuistí are organising a coffee morning on Friday 2 September in the school hall. All welcome.

School Uniform

School uniform which is no longer required may be forwarded to the school for recycling. Parents may call to the school on Tuesday 6 September at 7-8pm to choose recycled uniforms for their child.

Homework Club

The homework club will commence on Monday 12 September. More information to follow.

Healthy Lunches

Nuts or food containing nuts is forbidden in the school. Please give your child fruit and vegetables for lunch everyday. Leave sugary and fatty foods at home.

School Choir

The school choir will recommence on Tuesday 6 September at 2.30 in the school hall. Children from Rang 2-6 are welcome. More information regarding costs to follow.


If you are interested in providing childminding services for other parents, please send your details to the school office this week.

Message from An Foras Pátrúnachta

The Patron wishes all pupils, teachers and parents every success for the coming school year. As you are probably aware there was a lot of publicity regarding all Irish education in the media lately and the patron would like it to be widely known that  education through Irish is suitable for all children and to make it available to as many pupils as possible. We have been asked to share this message with our school community and make our school more accessible. Therefore if you know anyone who would like their child to receive their education in Irish and attend our school  for 2016/17, please ask them to contact the office immediately and we will make every effort to accommodate them.

Irish Language Course

A new Irish language course in conjunction with the Dept. of the Gaeltacht is available. It costs €19.16 or is free to social welfare recipients. More information available from Congratulations to Leo and Phoebe Mhic Dónaill who recently launched the course with Minister Seán Kyne.
